fulltime - Oegstgeest
Do you have experience with the assembly and integration of aluminium parts? We are expanding our international team in our hi-tech production facility for Space Launchers.
At Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands, we work at the frontiers of technology in one of the most challenging and rapidly changing industries in the world: Space. Our products and services - including Solar Arrays, Launcher Structures and Instruments- are among the best in the world. They enable missions that are of great importance for our everyday life on Earth, such as satellite navigation, communications, climate research and monitoring of air quality.
At our state-of-the-art facilities, a team of over 250 dedicated professionals work on the design, development, assembly, testing and delivery of space products and services. We do that by thinking creatively in terms of solutions and by working with like-minded business partners. Intensive collaboration in our international community is the key to success, also within the Airbus family that we are proudly part of.
You will be part of a dedicated international team that started the production recently. The facility is brand new, well organized (5S) and ready to manufacture a range of high-end products. Since the production is still in a ramp-up phase, you need to bring a flexible mind-set. In return, we will have some interesting challenges ready for you.
As Assembler, you are responsible for an important step in our space projects; the realisation of the hardware. Trained and supported by experienced co-workers, you perform the assembly and technical work of products and test configurations. You will do so by means of drilling and the placement of a variety of close tolerance fasteners and contribute to the development of (alternative) assembly solutions.
Besides that, you are involved in the optimisation of assembly and integration procedures, and the development of tools and jigs used for production. Furthermore, you deliver support to prepare products for shipment and, if needed provide product support at the customer's location.
What it takes
You completed a relevant technical education. Work experience as assembler or sheet metal worker in the Aerospace industry or a comparable sector is preferred but not necessary. Affinity with robotisation is a plus and if multiple years of assembly experience and an MBO 3-4 level apply for you, a training to operate our assembly robot may also be one of the future possibilities.
With two right hands, you are able to build high quality aluminium products. On a technical content level, you provide input to solve technical problems. You master the English language in speaking and writing, and you have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Further, you are able to use various digital tools to carry out the work.
