What you can expect from the position
As an Team Leader Engineering, you are responsible for a team of engineering professionals. Through this team, you meet the demand for engineering resources which are needed for the implementation of projects and development programmes. You ensure the high-level and flexible employability of your people and that the correct level of knowledge is guaranteed for the group as a whole and for the individuals in your team. You translate company and department level objectives into targets for your group and ensure that these are achieved. You signal trends and development within the professional field and introduce new professional methods, and also ensure resource development and knowledge transfer. You create the necessary conditions for your group to carry out the work and ensure the (professional) development of the individuals in the group. In the reviewer role, you make a substantive contribution through the application of knowledge in acquisition and innovation processes, such as proposal and project reviews.
If possible, you can be deployed as a Systems Engineer within projects or to support acquisition. As a Systems Engineer, you deal with the specifications, interfaces, and architecture of the solution and development plan and manage a team of developers. In addition, you are also involved in project budgeting and cost control.
You report to the Head of Engineering and are a member of his staff, which consists of team leaders from other engineering disciplines.
What are the prerequisites?
You have at least completed a university degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering degree and have at least 5 years of relevant work experience in an industrial setup. You also have demonstrable managerial experience in project and/or personnel management. You can communicate fluently in English and Dutch, both in speaking and in writing. You are flexible and creative and work constructively with colleagues and external parties to e.g. exchange knowledge and experience. You are conscientious and result-oriented and are able to plan and structure your own work and that of others. You also possess strong analytical and communication skills.
