Job description
For our Optical Systems team we are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Control Engineer. You will work on the development of the new generation systems and instruments in challenging projects in the domain of Laser Communication Systems and Atmospheric Monitoring Instruments. The long term goal for the person in this role is to become a control specialist in the broad range of aspects of Optical Systems and Instruments. However you need to be flexible and open to both work as a Control Engineer in other fields and explore the interface with the other engineering disciplines. Besides control you have another key-competence like optics, communication, electronics,… that contributes to your versatility and makes you robust in the changing needs of the Space business.
Role and Responsibilities:
Coordination, preparation and execution of the test on location can be part of your responsibilities. You follow up with analysis and validation of the test results and write the corresponding test reports.
Next to project support we also expect you to actively follow the developments in your domain and inform your colleagues and team leader about these topics. While doing this you will work on building a network of internal and external peers and stakeholders.
What it takes?
You have a bachelor or master degree in Engineering with high content of Control. Besides Control you should have developed another competence such as Mechanical, Optical, Electrical or Communications. We are looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of work experience in Space or related High Tech industry. Space experience is a strong preference as you then better understand what it takes in Space to be successful!
You are able to demonstrate knowledge in Control and preferably Laser Communications and you have affinity with High Tech engineering in general.
You are a flexible and creative person who enjoys working in a team with different colleagues and customers. Your communication in English, both verbally and in writing, is clear and concise. You are aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and have a drive to constantly develop yourself. You are result driven and capable of managing your own work.
